The conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and lies on the
north bank of the Tejo Estuary, on the European
Atlantic coast. It is the westernmost city in
continental Europe. Lisbon has an area of
approximately 1,000 km2. The city lies more or
less in the centre of the country, approximately
300 km from the Algarve in the south and 400 km
from the northern border with Spain.
Due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean,
Lisbon has a pleasant climate throughout the year.
The pleasant temperatures in the Summer are
an open invitation for a walk by the river, or to
spend an afternoon in one of the many street
cafés to be found all over the city.
Lisbon offers a wide variety of options to the
visitor, including beaches, countryside, mountains
and areas of historical interest only a few
kilometres
away from the city centre.
The charm of Lisbon exists in its strong links to
the past, its renovated palaces, magnificent
churches and an impressive castle mirror the
city's rich cultural heritage. Its eclectic blend
of neighborhoods, culture and architecture
distinguish this capital city uniquely from the
other
European capitals and make it a truly fascinating
and comprehensive city to visit.
Travel around Lisbon by using its trams and
funiculars, or the modern metro, where the
stations are authentic underground works of arts.
Admire the Portuguese pavements, making a Lisbon
walk a unique experience, and the houses covered
in tiles and with wrought-iron verandas.
Lisbon is one of the European capitals where night
is enjoyed to the fullest. In the Alfama and
Bairro Alto, listen to fado, songs from
Portuguese soul, played here in the Lisbon style.
The city set on seven hills, as the legend tells,
with its cobble-stoned pavements and narrow
streets full of Art Nouveau cafés promises
a lot to discover.
Most popular spots in Lisbon are located around
Rossio and Praça do Comércio, Baixa; situated on
the hill around Castelo de São Jorge, Alfama,
Mouraria, Belém and set on Tejo River. Lisbon also
hosts a great number of remarkable museums of
ancient and modern art.
Go up one of the hills to the view points and look
over the city.
Lisbon has countless places of interest, perfectly
marrying the old with the new. It is also known
for the hospitality of its people.
